Spring Time!

Aahhh... Spring! Conference, Easter, my birthday... it's a glorious time. Normally, I would also include the smell of flowers and rain, blossoms and that fresh feeling that comes with the new season, but in St. Kitts everything is as dead as ever. Luckily for us, Maine awaits.

UMHS had a Clinician Ceremony for all those leaving the island this semester. We attended the event Friday night at the Marriott. It reminded me a lot of our High School Senior Dinner Dance. It was very nice and awesomely air conditioned. That, and the good food, made it a lovely evening. I was able to get to know more of Austin's professors and new class. They all think very highly of him, which is no surprise, and are very friendly. The occasion gave us the opportunity to look nice for a night and go on a date. Thankfully, we have good friends that Eden loves who came to watch her for the night.

We were past due for pictures together- and since we were clothed we couldn't not capture the moment.

I'd like to point out how embarrassing it is to be at that stage where my belly button sticks out. And there's no hiding this baby. I definitely have a bump and it's alive!! Austin and I weigh about the same right now. He has 5 pounds on me is all and yet he could still pick me up (as much as I was against the idea). What did I say about it feeling like High School? To get even, I gave him a "belly" of his own :)

Happy birthday to me! I didn't cook for two nights in a row. The best present was having my birthday on a Saturday so Austin could be home with me all day. We had a fun day at home and then walked to the beach. It may be the last time we ever do that from our house. We were able to throw a football while Eden played in the sand, which she could have done all day. Then Austin treated me to dinner on the Strip by the beach. How lucky can a girl be?

Oh, actually, a girl can be pretty lucky. Our dear friends also made me a cake and I pulled a wanna-be-Dairy-Queen card and made myself an ice-cream cake. I should go into business. It didn't look like much, but it was delicious. Almost Dairy Queen. And sheeesh! Can you believe all those candles? Austin couldn't... he thought he'd never finish putting them on the cake.
Here's to a new year. Bring on 27!
