The story of Christ is beautiful. It is a story that has
eternal consequences and influence on you and on me. How fitting it is to start
the Book of Matthew with the announcement of a King. The Old Testament
prophesies and amasses to one single, triumphant event: the coming of a Savior,
our Lord Jesus Christ. And so begins the New Testament- a testimony that Christ
was born, the only Begotten Son of the Father. To fulfill the law, Christ came.
Foreordained, he overcame Satan’s snares, even as a babe. He lived, he atoned,
and he died that we might live. And not just that we might live, but that we
might live eternally and become like Him, even as He is.
